Accepting these terms
By downloading, installing or using the Esito app, you accept these Terms of Service together with our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the app. Esito is provided by an independent developer and is not affiliated with any medical, healthcare or financial institution.
What Esito is
Esito is a self-experiment tracker. It lets you run a fixed-length experiment on a diet, supplement or habit, check in daily on the metrics that matter, and read a plain-language verdict backed by your own before-and-after numbers. It's a tool for running and interpreting your own experiments - it does not provide medical, health, legal or financial advice, and it does not guarantee any particular result. Single-subject (n=1) experiments have confounders, and correlation is not causation.
Cloud sync
Syncing through Dropbox or Google Drive is optional and initiated by you through OAuth. Your experiment data is stored in your own cloud account, not on the developer's servers, and we have no access to the contents of those files. Use of these services is also governed by the Dropbox Terms and Google Terms. If you delete the Esito files from your cloud or revoke access, synced data may be lost - keep a backup if it matters to you.
Your responsibilities
Use Esito only for lawful, personal purposes, keep your PIN or biometric lock to yourself, and let us know if you suspect unauthorised use of your data. The values, ratings and notes you enter are yours and remain your responsibility - we don't verify the accuracy of your entries or of any verdict computed from them.
Pro subscription
Esito offers a Pro subscription with advanced features, managed through RevenueCat. Payments are processed solely by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own policies - we never see or store your payment details, and RevenueCat receives only an anonymous ID and your subscription status. A free trial, where offered, converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. You can manage or cancel anytime from your App Store or Google Play settings; cancelling does not delete the data stored on your device.
Not medical advice
Esito is a personal tracking tool, not a medical device or healthcare service. It helps healthy people run self-experiments; it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it makes no health claims. Verdicts are based on your own self-reported numbers over a short period - and the app says so out loud, never spinning a null result into a win. Don't use Esito to make medical decisions or to start or stop any treatment; consult a qualified professional for medical, legal or financial decisions.
Limitation of liability
The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for decisions you make based on the data or verdicts shown, for data loss caused by uninstalling the app or resetting your device or deleting your cloud files, for inaccuracies in imported health data or computed results, for interruptions to third-party services (Dropbox, Google Drive, Apple Health, Google Fit, the App Store or Google Play), or for any direct, indirect or incidental damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the app.
Intellectual property
All intellectual property rights in the app - source code, design, logo, name, and graphic and textual content - belong to the developer. You're granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app on your own devices. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse-engineer or create derivative works of the app without the developer's written consent.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be noted in the app and reflected by the “last updated” date above. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept the new terms; if you don't agree, you can uninstall the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Moldova, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of its competent courts. If any provision is held void or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in force.
